Racon Engineers began as a single-engineer studio in Kakinada in 2000. Twenty-five years, five hundred projects and three generations of clients later, we're still driven by the same idea: that every building begins with a conversation, and every good building begins with a good listener.
Racon Engineers was founded in 2000 by S. Raja Ratnam, a structural engineer with years of construction experience under his belt and a growing frustration with what he saw around him: buildings that leaked because the drawings didn't account for local rainfall, estimates that ballooned by 40% because contractors were guessing at rates, and permits that got stuck for years because nobody understood the paperwork.
He set out to build a practice that would fix all three. Over the years S. Salmon Suneeth joined as Business Head to drive client relationships and vendor coordination, and S. Sailaja came on board to run administration and the client-facing front office. As projects grew, a dedicated management layer took shape — Y. Vinay Kumar as Chief Operational Manager, D. Amruth Kiran heading civil execution, and G. Uday Kiran running accounts.
Today Racon Engineers is a six-strong core team working alongside site engineers, designers and surveyors from our Kakinada studio. We've stayed deliberately compact — small enough that every project still crosses a named desk, large enough to handle full end-to-end scope from concept to occupancy.

S. Raja Ratnam opens the studio with a single-room office on the Suryaraopet junction. First project: a two-floor residential extension in Bhanugudi. Delivered under budget, on time. The client's referral opens the next three jobs.
S. Salmon Suneeth joins as Business Head. Racon delivers its first commercial G+2 building — a coaching institute in Gandhinagar. Business coordination and site liaison brought fully in-house.
S. Sailaja joins to run admin and front-office. Racon crosses its 100-project milestone. Studio moves to a larger space to accommodate an expanding drafting & design team.
Adds structural design as a standalone in-house service (previously outsourced). Total-station survey equipment purchased for accurate site work. First 3D walkthrough delivered — clients ask for it on every project since.
Y. Vinay Kumar joins as Chief Operational Manager. D. Amruth Kiran heads civil execution; G. Uday Kiran takes charge of accounts. Firm registers under GST for compliant B2B invoicing.
Interior design + walkthrough studio launched as a dedicated wing. Remote consultation offered for out-of-district clients. First 42-plot layout sanctioned near Yanam Road.
Racon delivers its 500th project — a G+2 villa for the child of one of our first-ever clients. Full digital operating system rolled out in-house for transparent client tracking.
